Mission Statement Our mission at the Law Office of Neil R. Sarles is to provide clients with high quality legal services at a fair price. Common Concerns Despite his declining health, three years after my mother's death, my 70 year-old father married a significantly younger woman. His new wife had him sign a power of attorney, after which I saw a "For Sale" sign on recreational property that has always been in our family. When I call, his wife tells me that Dad is busy and cannot talk. When I visit, Dad seems suspicious of my motives. How do I find out if my father is being exploited? My mother is not competent. She is terminally ill and on life support. My brother wants to become her guardian and terminate life support, but when I squeeze my mom's hand, she responds with a smile. Is there something I should do? My brother was wealthy, but an alcoholic. He was not married and had no children. My brother died in a car accident a few months ago. I learned that he left his estate to his accountant, who was also his drinking buddy. I also heard that his accountant paid a lawyer to get my brother to sign his last will. I don't think that's fair. Can I challenge the will? |
